UPDATE 1.04

Update 1.04 — Custom Projections, Room Projection Builder and Extend Stereo Improvements

Camera Render Studio Update 1.04 is now available for Unreal Engine 5.7 and Unreal Engine 5.8.

This update improves the Custom Projections and Room Projection Builder workflow, and adds new stereo capture options for Extend Stereo.

What Was Added

  • Support for Unreal Engine 5.7.
  • Support for Unreal Engine 5.8.
  • Synchronous wall rendering for Custom Projections and Room Projection Builder.
  • New Render All Mesh option for the Room Projection Builder MRQ workflow.
  • Extend Stereo now includes two stereo capture methods: Pane Overlap and Circular.

Room Projection Builder — Render All Mesh

A new Render All Mesh option has been added to the Room Projection Builder MRQ workflow.

When Render All Mesh is disabled, each projection mesh or wall is rendered as a separate MRQ job. This is the original behavior.

When Render All Mesh is enabled, the builder creates a single MRQ job that renders all projection meshes in one render session. Each wall or projection surface is still saved as its own output pass or folder, but the queue is cleaner and easier to manage.

Extend Stereo — Pane Overlap and Circular

Extend Stereo now includes two stereo capture methods.

Pane Overlap

Pane Overlap is the original stereo method. It builds the stereo image from overlapping render panes. This mode is kept for compatibility and behaves the same as before.

In some scenes, especially with close objects or high-contrast details, Pane Overlap may produce stronger ghosting or visible double images.

Circular

Circular is a new stereo capture method for 360 rendering. Instead of relying on overlapping panes, it captures stereo using circular directional strips.

The final panorama is assembled from narrow strips captured around the full 360 degrees, which is closer to classic stereoscopic panoramic rendering.

Benefits of Circular

  • Reduced ghosting and double-image artifacts.
  • Sharper stereo result.
  • Better behavior for 360 panoramic stereo rendering.
  • Controlled mainly by Num Horizontal Steps: more steps create narrower strips and smoother stereo transitions.
  • Pane Overlap remains available for legacy compatibility.

Recommended Usage

Use Circular for cleaner final 360 stereo renders, especially when you need reduced ghosting and sharper panoramic stereo. Use Pane Overlap when you need the original behavior or compatibility with older projects.

Important Notes

  • Before migrating projects to UE 5.7 or UE 5.8, it is recommended to make a backup of your project.
  • For existing stereo projects, check the selected Extend Stereo method after updating.
  • If you need the same behavior as in previous versions, use Pane Overlap.
  • For new 360 stereo renders, Circular is recommended as the cleaner stereo capture method.
