UPDATE 1.01 RELEASE

Release Update 1.01 — Projection Mapping Preview, Room Builder Improvements, Source Input Workflow and Safer MRQ Job Creation

This update adds a new Projection Mapping preview workflow to Camera Render Studio and improves several tools for planning and preparing projection layouts inside Unreal Engine.

The new Projection Mapping tools allow users to create simple mapping objects, assign visual sources, adjust position, scale and rotation, and preview the result in a separate output window.

The Room Builder workflow has also been improved with projectors and cameras, making it easier to visually plan room layouts, projector placement, camera positions, and multi-display setups.

What Was Added

  • Projection Mapping preview tools — create and arrange simple mapping objects inside Unreal Engine.
  • Visual source support — assign images, materials, media, generated textures, or source input to mapping objects.
  • Object controls — adjust object position, scale, rotation, and layout visually.
  • Output windows — create separate windows for previewing projection output.
  • Generated patterns — use simple patterns and test textures for layout preparation and preview.
  • Room Builder projectors and cameras — plan projection setups more clearly with visual projector and camera objects.
  • Source Input improvements — use external window or desktop content as a visual source.
  • Media and material preview improvements — improved preview workflow for video, media, and material-based sources.
  • Safer MRQ job creation — the Create Job button is now locked until at least one required job-generation option is enabled.

Workflow Improvements

  • Projection layouts can now be prepared and previewed more conveniently.
  • Projectors and cameras help users plan room setups before final rendering or display output.
  • Different visual sources can be tested directly on mapping objects.
  • The updated workflow is useful for simple projection previews, layout tests, and multi-display planning.
  • MRQ job creation is safer and helps prevent accidental job setup mistakes.

Important Notes

  • The Projection Mapping tools are intended for preview, layout preparation, and simple projection setup workflows.
  • Final real-world projection setups may still require manual projector alignment, physical adjustment, blending, and on-site correction.
  • Source Input behavior may depend on the operating system, GPU, graphics API, and the captured application.
